Quick Tips for Organizing Your Calendar
I was sitting here stressing about all of these things I have coming up, and I started thinking about how I organize my calendar (or lack of organizing maybe).
Actually, I do carry a calendar organizer in my purse with me everywhere. And I do have important dates, school events, days off and other information in there. However, lately I’ve learned a few tricks that have made keeping the organizer current and well…organized - so I thought I’d share.
Here are a few quick tips to get you and your life a bit more organized.
- Find a calendar that you can write on a lot. My organizer has quite a bit of room per day, so I can actually write directions to wherever I am going, jot a phone number down or something I need to bring with me inside the box.
- Two is better than one. If you can get an organizer for your purse, and a wall calendar for nearby a phone - this will help tremendously.
- Look for calendars with enough room to fit all family members activities inside the squares. This is the calendar we use in a family of seven. (It’s actually called the Mom’s Super Size Plan It Calendar (or you can simply get the standard Mom’s Plan It Calendar - places for 5 family members.) - google it and you are sure to find it.)
- Keep a calendar handy. Leave it somewhere you can access it often. A smaller calendar or organizer can fit in your purse, a larger might hang in the kitchen or near a phone.
- When you find out the date of something, immediately mark it in your calendar. Use a pencil. When the approaching date comes closer, you can erase it and enter it in pen. Marking it in pencil allows the ability to change it if need be.
My life became so much easier when I stopped trying to remember dates, didn’t have to keep every single piece of paper with dates on it and started using a calendar.

I can not live without my calenders! When I had fewer kids it wasn’t as important - now i even put the menu on the calender, and also shopping days! nice advice…
