Pantry Organization - What to Start With
Whether you are organized or not, there are just some things that you should always have on hand to create a well-stocked pantry. It isn’t imperative, but it definitely helps.

This is the beginning of a series of articles I’ll produce this week on getting your pantry organized. After all, we are talking about kitchen organization, and often times, getting your kitchen organized from the inside out just works better.
When starting with a pantry or somewhere else that you store food (some families use cabinets, or special closets for their food), you need to remove everything. That means that every single thing that is in the pantry must come out.
After everything is removed, it needs to be cleaned out. Sweep the floor or wipe out the cabinets. Remove any special hanging devices or things you have on the closet door or walls. If you wish to keep them, and they are already serving an organizational purpose, you do not need to remove them. However, if they are not designed to serve a purpose, remove them.
Once the food closet, pantry or cabinets have been sufficiently cleaned out, it is time to seriously take a look at what you have. Analyzing your inventory and the needs you will have once you have returned the items to the pantry.
If you are choosing to follow along with these entries, I recommend saving all of these to do at once, so you don’t wind up with food left all over your kitchen that cannot be put away.
More tomorrow….

we need more cupboards for starters… someplace to store ‘really good deals’ on hubby’s soups, at least.
